Dr. Thompson - DMD Education B.S.: Portland State University D.M.D.: Oregon Health Sciences University, 2005 Certificate in Advanced Education for General Dentistry: University of Michigan at Ann Arbor Mission Dentistry is constantly changing and my goal is to remain current with this dynamic health profession, which is why I have become a member of the professional societies shown below. With the help of a strong educational background, and participation in local dental societies, I hope to provide the best possible treatment for my patients and promise to be conservative in my presentation of treatment options. About Me While away from the dental office, I have the privilege of spending time with my beautiful wife Kimberly and two wonderful children, Baylie and Kaleb. Together, we enjoy activities that include camping, boating, waterskiing, wakeboarding, golf, skiing and snowboarding. Crystal Bertsch, E.F.D.A. - Office Administrator Crystal has worked in dentistry for more than 10 years, and has been a member of Pacific Oak Dental since 2006. She has spent 7 of those years as a dental assistant, and in 2008 decided to take a leap into the administrative side of dentistry. She takes pleasure in providing patients with a positive dental experience by offering her knowledge of dentistry and compassion for people, while always lending an open ear to patient questions, comments and concerns. Crystal actively participates in continuing education courses to keep up with the ever changing administrative and clinical world of dentistry. Crystal is an Oregon native and grew up in Forest Grove, where she currently resides with her husband, daughter, and two dogs. She and her family love Oregon and all of the outdoor fun it has to offer. Camping, backyard BBQ’s, gardening, and family walks to the local park are just some of her family’s favorite ways to spend time together.
Nina Menasco - EFDA, Dental Assistant Nina grew up in Hood River Oregon. She has since moved to Hillsboro, where she lives with her long time boyfriend, their three dogs and two cats. She enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys going to Eugene to watch the Oregon Ducks. Her favorite time of year is fall because of the beautiful colors and football. In June 2004 Nina graduated from Concord Career Institute with a certificate in Expanded Functions Dental Assisting. She has known from a very young age that she wanted to work as a dental assistant. When she was a little girl she wanted to be the lady at the dentist office that held her hand when she was scared. Nina has been employed here at Pacific Oak Dental since June of 2009.She has a passion for helping people overcome their dental fears. Her favorite part of working here is watching people come in with a frown and leaving with a smile. Nina is also active in continuing education. The dental field is changing all the time and she wants to be as up to date as she can. The more knowledge she has the better she can educate her patients.
Mary Jones RDH, BS Mary Jones began working for Jared Thompson in 2008. Mary received her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at Western Oregon University in 2004. After which she attended Pacific University and obtained a second Bachelor’s degree in Dental Health Science in 2008. Mary enjoys getting to know her patients and their families as well as educating them on their oral health. Mary was born and raised in Hillsboro, Oregon. She currently resides in Beaverton with her husband and two children. Mary enjoys all things outdoors, exercising, traveling and spending time with her family.
Laura Rentz, RDH, BSDH Laura has been working at Pacific Oak Dental since August 2011. Laura started her career in the field as an assistant, and then graduated from PCC’s dental hygiene program in June, 2011. She then proceeded to finish her bachelor’s in dental hygiene the following year. She is passionate about dental hygiene and loves helping her patients reach optimum oral health. Laura loves to use her skills to volunteer. She has participated in many local dental missions and on dental vans. Recently she traveled to Honduras to place preventative sealants on children. When Laura is not working, she loves to spend time with her wonderful husband and their dog. The three of them try to spend as much time outdoors as they can. Laura and her husband grew up in Corvallis, Oregon and moved to the Portland area in 2006.
