Get to Know Dr. Jared Thompson, MAGD
For over 20 years, Dr. Jared has strived to provide experiences in the dental chair that patients never knew were possible, whether that means performing a painless procedure, using new technology to make appointments fast and efficient, or improving someone’s smile beyond what they thought was capable. He has made a career out of exceeding people’s expectations and constantly improving, and he can’t wait to show you what’s possible.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Jared realized he wanted to be in the health sciences profession while in high school when he was doing janitorial work in a dental office. It just made sense to him because he enjoyed working with his hands and loved helping people, plus his dad (Dr. Ernie) was a dentist and set a great example for him growing up. He went on to shadow several dentists in the area, took some evening pre-dental courses, and the rest is history.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After graduating from Portland State University, Dr. Jared went on to earn his DMD from Oregon Health Sciences University. He then completed a one-year AEGD (advanced education in general dentistry) residency at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Jared is dedicated to continuing education and expanding his knowledge and skills, leading him to achieve Mastership with the Academy of General Dentistry, a distinction earned by less than 5% of dentists in the U.S. and Canada. In addition to serving as a CDOCs mentor (an organization that does advanced training for CAD/CAM dentistry), he is also extremely active in several professional organizations, including the...

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
While away from the dental office, Dr. Jared dedicates most of his time to his beautiful wife, Kimberly, and their two wonderful children, Baylie and KJ. Together, they enjoy staying active outdoors by camping, boating, waterskiing, wakeboarding, golfing, skiing, and snowboarding.
